![]() ![]() In order to produce quality objects, you need to use specialised textures which may look odd but add subtlety and richness and enhance the realism of your work. Unfortunately, this will probably not yield optimal results. You’d think that you can simply place the texture on the model and be done with it. the 3D monochrome model with no textures, animation, or effects, and its UV mapping. If you add a new geometry: Textures with Varied Effects The following two examples illustrate the importance of doing things in the right order. Your decision about whether to use automated mapping will depend on which technique you plan to use to create textures.Īnother important point is that the UV mapping process can only be started after the 3D modelling is done, and, due to technical limitations, before any form of animation. On the other hand, textures generated in 2D applications such as Photoshop require manually-optimised mapping. Newer automated models allow the artist to paint directly on the model, doing away with UVs entirely. However, they must be handled with care, as the seams often end up being in places that, though acceptable, are visible. Their quality has steadily increased and they are now up to a professional standard. Ideally, the seams will be invisible, since they should be located on a cut or edge of your model (for example, the seams on a pair of pants, or the joint between two metal plates), or where the user won’t notice them (for example, if your model is a person, under the arms, at the back of the head, under hair or a hat).Ī few years ago, we saw the advent of automated UV-generating models giving the user varying levels of control over the process. As a general rule, it is best to keep the number of seams to a minimum, since the most labour-intensive part of the process is optimizing their number and position on the model. This example clearly shows how the model is unfolded in a single piece onto a 2D canvas. Let’s look at what mapping looks like, using the common example of a simple cube: Other processes exist to color models, but they have much narrower limitations. This process makes it possible to produce models rich in color and detail. Once the mapping is complete, the artist can produce a custom image based on the “pattern” and apply it to the 3D model. The 3D model is unfolded at the seams and laid out flat on a 2D plan, not unlike the process used for pattern-making in sewing. The term “UV” refers to the bidimensional (2D) nature of the process: the letters “U” and “V” denote the axes of the 2D texture because “X”, “Y” and “Z” are already used to denote the axes of the 3D model. UV mapping is the 3D modeling process of projecting a 2D image onto a 3D model’s surface. In this article, we’ll examine UV mapping techniques and the different types of textures. ![]() ![]() Sattu: ground barley grains mixed with salt and turmeric rolled into balls.Toasted grains: In the Punjab, toasting corn and wheat grains on the Punjabi bhathi is a traditional delicacy.Lassi paneer cannot be cut into cubes as paneer from milk can be. GH also helps with building of non-contractile tissues which is needed after surgery or a severe injury. This heightens the cell signaling for hypertrophy and strength gains. It has been demonstrated that BFR training increases the endocrine response and release of hormones such as GH and IGF-1, needed for protein synthesis, by 200-300%. This restriction creates a more robust anabolic environment for muscle growth and strength during rest periods, without joint stress or damage to non-contractile tissue. Post surgical patients may not even be allowed to perform resistant training exercises for several weeks due to surgical precautions, depending on the surgery performed.īFR training with the use of pneumatic tourniquets allows for arterial blood flow to a region while restricting venous blood flow return. In the rehabilitation population, patients often do not tolerate this 65% of 1 RM load. To make strength and muscle hypertrophy gains through mechanical stress one must work at or above 65% of their 1- Rep Max (RM), with adaptation time ranging between 8-12 weeks. When triggered, it sends a cascade effect that activates satellite cells in the sarcolemma to proliferate and bind to the muscle cells to create new muscle fibers. After acute or repeated bouts of appropriate mechanical stress to the muscles that exceeds tissue capacity, IGF-1 and mTOR hormones are released which are the driving force of muscle growth and hypertrophy. There are two primary triggers to create physiological changes in muscle strength and hypertrophy: 1- Mechanical stress, 2- Metabolic stress. To put this in perspective, one can do a straight leg raise exercise with BFR while tissues heals in order to get similar benefits of a traditional body weight squat. ![]() This allows for early optimal loading intervention for healing tissue that cannot sustain the necessary higher loads that are needed for full recovery. BFR training focuses on the metabolic aspect of strength training and allows for strength gains at much lower intensities. Research has shown that BFR training loads at or below 50% of 1-RM, even to as low as 20-30%, improve muscle strength and hypertrophy gains. īFR is a tool that restricts venous blood flow return which aides in lowering the mechanical stress needed for muscle hypertrophy and strength gains. However, in recent years, research supports the use of BFR in the rehabilitation populations. It was used mostly among powerlifters and bodybuilders to increase strength and muscle hypertrophy. Blood flow restriction training (BFR) was first introduced in 1966 and was popularized as “Kaatsu training” before the general name of BFR. ![]() ![]() ![]() Variations included cream ("à la genevoise") and truffles ("à la piémontaise") in addition to eggs, as well as what is now called " raclette" ("fondue valaisanne"). However, the name "cheese fondue", until the late 19th century, referred to a dish composed of eggs and cheese, as in la Chapelle's 1735 Fonduë de Fromage, aux Truffes Fraiches it was something between scrambled eggs with cheese and a cheese soufflé. It calls for grated or cut-up cheese to be melted with wine, and for bread to be dipped in it. The earliest known recipe for the modern form of cheese fondue comes from a 1699 book published in Zürich, under the name "Käss mit Wein zu kochen" 'to cook cheese with wine'. It is first attested in French in 1735, in Vincent La Chapelle's Cuisinier moderne, and in English in 1878. The word fondue is the feminine passive past participle of the French verb fondre 'to melt' and so means 'melted' it is used as a noun. Since the 1950s, the term "fondue" has been generalized to other dishes in which a food is dipped into a communal pot of liquid kept hot in a fondue pot: chocolate fondue, fondue au chocolat, in which pieces of fruit or pastry are dipped into a melted chocolate mixture, and fondue bourguignonne, in which pieces of meat are cooked in hot oil or broth. As die-hard Star Wars fans know, this is just the latest attempt to revise the fate of this storied character after a string of fits and starts throughout a nearly four-decade period. After appearing in Season 2 of The Mandalorian last year, Fett will headline The Book of Boba Fett series, which hits Disney+ at the end of this month. How does a character this cool go out in such a lame way? Turns out, the rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated. Evocative as he was, Fett’s reputation was immediately torpedoed in Return of the Jedi when a malfunctioning jetpack sent him soaring into a Sarlaac pit to be swallowed alive. Introduced to most people in The Empire Strikes Back (he technically first debuted in the Star Wars Holiday Special of 1978, but the canonical importance of that tale is hazy at best) as one of many bounty hunters chasing the Millennium Falcon, Fett’s notoriety rests on his unique ability to best the biggest badass in the galaxy, Han Solo.
